DAYDO proudly served our Detroit community through our Turkey & Cleanliness Kits Distribution. This day was about more than providing food and essentials—it was about bringing warmth, dignity, and nourishment to families during the holiday season.
Unlimited Potential Day was a special celebration honoring the resilience and achievements of adults and youth participating in DAYDO’s Unlimited Potential program. The event featured powerful client testimonials, a meaningful awards ceremony, and an inspiring address by Honorable James E. Tate, Jr., who encouraged students and community members to embrace leadership, opportunity, and belief in their unlimited potential. The day highlighted the program’s impact in empowering individuals and families through mentorship, education, and pathways to long-term success.
A heartfelt thank you to Senator Mary Cavanagh for joining us as our Chief Guest and for our Lights on Afterschool event. Her support inspires our youth and uplifts the families we serve. We also celebrated the rich cultural traditions of different countries and showcased exciting STEM activities—from robotics to NASA-inspired projects—that highlighted the creativity and talent of our students.
DAYDO brought together students, parents, and community members for a meaningful day of learning and connection. Youth received back-to-school supplies to support a confident start to the academic year, families and educators strengthened partnerships during our Parent-Teacher Conference, and the day concluded with a joyful Community Luncheon & BBQ celebrating togetherness. This memorable gathering reflected our shared commitment to education, empowerment, and building brighter futures for our youth and community.
This summer, DAYDO students designed Mars rover wheels and presented their prototype to NASA engineers, scientists, and U.S. Department of Education representatives — a proud moment for our community. Special thanks to NASA, 21CCLC, and the U.S. Department of Education for supporting hands-on STEM learning.
